Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) is a not-for-profit cooperative engaged in distribution of electricity in Manassas, Virginia. With a service area of about 650 square miles, NOVEC provides its services to over 150,000 customers in the region through more than 6700 miles of power lines.
Novec Electric Bill Pay Options
The following are the various methods by which NOVEC customers can pay their energy bills with the company –
Online: You can pay your power bills online with the company’s e-billing facility. To use this payment option, you must register an online account with NOVEC.
There is no fee for this service and you can pay your bill using your checking account or savings account. To login into the system follow the following screenshot for instructions.
E-Check: For customers looking for an automatic payment system, you can use NOVEC’s e-check payment option. Under this method, you will authorize the company to deduct your monthly bill from your checking or savings account. This is an absolutely free service that you have to set up just once and then you never have to worry about being involved in the cumbersome process of writing checks or visiting the offices to pay your power bills.
SpeedPay: You can also use Western Union Speedpay service to pay through the internet. There is no registration required and you can pay your bill using your credit card, debit card or checking account. Accepted credit cards include Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Since this is a third part service, you will be charged a convenience fee of $2.45 for each transaction.
By Phone: Do not want to use the internet to pay your bill? Then you can call the customer service and make your payments through phone. To do so, contact 1-888-335-0500 or 1-866-215-2703 and follow the simple voice instruction. Payment can be made using either your debit card, credit card or checking account. A service fee of $2.45 will be charged if you use this payment option
Levelized Billing: In this payment plan, your monthly bill is calculated using a rolling 12 month average. This helps you in keeping your power expenses relatively stable month after month. This is the bst option for budget conscious customers.
By Mail: You can pay your power bills the traditional way – by mail. There no fee charged for this service. You can send your checks or money orders to –

Make sure that you have enough funds in the bank before you mail you checks. NOVEC will charge you $35 for every returned check.

If you do not pay your power bills on time, then NOVEC will charge you a late payment fee at 1.5% of the past due amount.
